Japanese movies, anime, music, games etc rarely win in any western award ceremony. However western award ceremonies love including Japanese stuff as "contenders" to pretend like they are universal. However the people who decide who wins are only western people within the industry in western nations, so of course Japanese creations have no hope of winning any of those awards.
BTW Japan does have some western movies and games and music included within their own award contestants, yet for the same reason Japanese stuff rarely wins in the west, this western content very rarely wins the awards in Japan either.
