Anonymous1: Nah they updated Garnet's overall design. Like the episode where Pearl died and came back looking different. For example, Garnet's bottom half is purple now, before it was black and red.
Anonymous4: think about this:
both lapis and jasper has on their own been able to defeat all the gems with ease.
now, not only are they allied as malachite, but fusion is stronger than just the two of them.
so, literally, malachite could destroy planets with ease, if she agreed on it.
Anonymous5: My own headcanon is that Malachite ends up being fused permanently, and with the love that Lapis feels for Steven and the respect Jasper holds toward Rose Quartz, Malachite ends up being decidedly non-hostile towards Steven, and possibly the Crystal Gems. Thereafter, she becomes a very protective, very mean, very angry, and ultimately VERY DANGEROUS matron, known as Kaijumom.
Hierolocc: @Anonymous:
I suppose, if they both manage to forget who they are individually they might become permanent. But as for becoming friendly, both has a LOT of reasons to hate and be wary of the Gems. Even if Jasper's loyalty to the homeworld is lost in the mix, I don't think that latent mistrust and anger will just go away.
In this latest episode, Lapis did assert that they "were" Malachite now.
